Frequently Asked Questions

How many sessions will I need?
At our first assessment session we can decide together how many sessions might be beneficial. I do not stipulate a number. Sometimes one session may be all you need, for other people more lengthy work will be useful. We can mutually decide how often you would like to come and how regularly .

How much do you charge?
My standard charge is £60 per session with reductions negotiable for students and those on benefits. Couples sessions are £80 and I suggest that each partner has one individual session before starting couples work. Sessions usually last an hour although the initial assessment may take a little longer. I have a 24 hour cancellation policy.

How frequently will I need to be seen?
Clients generally choose to come weekly but this is negotiable also.

Do you have disabled access?
I work from home and my practice room is on the ground floor with easy access for anyone with mobility difficulties. I can also visit clients at their home if there is a particular disabling issue which makes it difficult to travel.

Is parking straight forward?
There is plenty of parking opposite my house in a visitor's parking area.

Is the service confidential?
Yes, the sessions are confidential. There are two exceptions to this. The first is if you or someone else were considered to be at risk. In this instance I would always discuss this with you at length before speaking to anyone else. The second exception is in supervision. Every counsellor affiliated to a professional organisation is required to have monthly supervision. In supervision I discuss my client work with my supervisor so that I can help my clients as fully as possible. Confidentiality and client anonymity is preserved here also.

If you have any other questions why not give me a call or fill out the email contact form and I will be happy to provide any further information.
